Finding grace in the storm

Finding grace in the storm

I never imagined my life as it is now but i have learned to cope and be grateful for the good things that have come out of this pandemic. My father passed away in March of last year 2020 shortly after I visited him in Ghana with my junior sister. The pandemic had just begun and Ghana closed it’s boarders so we had to keep my dad in the Morgue for 9 months. We were able to go home in December to lay him to rest. My dad was loved by many and people who wanted to go and pay their last respects couldn’t go because they were in other countries whose boarders were also closed. Everything was different because of covid precautions, I was particularly sad because I wanted to give him a very nice send off and celebrate his life because he had done so much for so many.
shortly after we came back to the states, my brother got violently ill with Covid and almost lost his life. We witnessed the power of prayer and God’s hand in our lives during this time as we mobilized prayer warriors to pray for him. This was a faith building experience to see God move to save my brother’s life. He introduced this church to our family and is now inactive, has been inactive for years . I prayed for God to heal him so that he can come back to worship with us. He hasn’t yet, but I believe it will happen.
As a nurse I took care of a lot of patients who had covid and lost their lives. I also contracted it from my patients, but I prayed and asked God to heal me, I stayed home for two weeks and did a lot of inner thinking (meditation) during this time and felt the peace of God with me and the assurance that I was going to be alright. So I am grateful for everything that happened because the scriptures tell us to be grateful in good times and in bad times.
